The White House Agrees – Congress Must Fix the Federal Hemp Ban

| |

The fight to save hemp just reached a critical turning point.

The White House has officially called on Congress to revise the impending federal hemp ban and ensure the “fair treatment of hemp products.” This is an extraordinary development and a direct acknowledgment that the current law goes too far and risks devastating an entire American industry.

Unless Congress acts, the federal restrictions scheduled to take effect later this year could eliminate an estimated 95% of hemp extract products currently on the market. Farmers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers across the country could lose access to products they depend on, while thousands of small businesses and jobs are placed at risk.

For years, our community has argued that prohibition is not regulation. Bans do not create safety. They push consumers toward unregulated markets and punish responsible businesses that have invested in compliance and consumer protections.

Now, even the White House is urging Congress to find a better path forward.

Congress should reject broad prohibition and instead establish a sensible regulatory framework that:

• Preserves access to lawful hemp-derived products;
• Protects farmers and small businesses;
• Implements reasonable consumer safeguards and product standards;
• Keeps products away from minors; and
• Provides certainty and fairness for the entire hemp supply chain.

Your voice is needed now more than ever.

Please contact your U.S. Senators and Representative today and urge them to support legislation that fixes the hemp ban and replaces prohibition with practical, science-based regulation.

Every email, phone call, and office visit matters. Lawmakers consistently say that hearing directly from constituents influences their understanding of issues and helps shape policy decisions. This is our opportunity to demonstrate that hemp consumers, patients, farmers, veterans, entrepreneurs, and advocates are paying attention and expecting action.

Take action today and tell Congress: Save Hemp. Regulate Responsibly. Don’t Ban It.
