Office Sought:
Wisconsin State Representative – 57th District
Do you currently or have you previously held public office?
Currently Waushara County Board Supervisor District 4
Is there any cannabis related legislation you have sponsored, co-sponsored, or publicly supported? Would you like to provide a brief statement about your stance on cannabis reform?
I believe any discussion regarding cannabis policy should be based on facts, public safety, economic impacts, and the experiences of other states. Policymakers should carefully evaluate how proposed changes affect Wisconsin families, law enforcement, healthcare systems, local communities, and small businesses. I am also mindful of the risk that regulatory systems can unintentionally favor large corporations over small business owners and local entrepreneurs. Any policy changes should be evaluated with transparency and accountability to ensure they serve the interests of Wisconsin citizens rather than a select group of well-connected interests.
Do you think individual states should keep their laws in line with federal laws regarding the legalization of cannabis?

Do you support legalizing and regulating the responsible use of cannabis by adults in the state of Wisconsin?
Unsure – I Have Questions
Would you support a two year moratorium implementing any excise tax to evaluate true administration/regulation costs before automatically attaching an exise tax to a regulation program?
Yes
If you support an excise tax above and beyond what is needed to administer a regulation program, what percentage of excise tax do you feel is appropriate? Where do you think excise tax should be spent?
If cannabis is legalized, any excise tax should be reasonable and not so high that it encourages black-market sales or places unnecessary burdens on consumers and small businesses. My preference would be for taxes to be limited to what is necessary to administer and enforce the regulatory framework. If excise tax revenues exceed those costs, I would prioritize using those funds for purposes directly related to public health, substance abuse treatment, impaired driving enforcement, and local governments that may be impacted by legalization. I would not support using cannabis tax revenue as a substitute for responsible budgeting or as a justification for expanding government spending.
Do you think cannabis should be classified as a Schedule 1 drug?
No
Do you support medical use of cannabis in the State of Wisconsin?
Yes
If you support medical use of cannabis, do you also support patient’s rights to cultivate their own medicine or assign caregivers to do it for them?

Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this questionnaire. I believe elected officials have a responsibility to listen, answer questions, and engage with people who may have different viewpoints. While cannabis policy is not among my top legislative priorities, I appreciate the opportunity to learn more about the issue and hear from those who are directly affected by existing laws and regulations. I welcome continued dialogue and appreciate your interest in Wisconsin’s future.
