AD 50: Jenna Jacobson (D) vs Richard Johnson (R)

| | | |

The 50th Assembly district of Wisconsin is located in southern Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Green County, and parts of southwest Dane County including the southwestern exurban areas outside of Madison. It includes the cities of Brodhead and Monroe, and the villages of Albany, Belleville, Brooklyn, Browntown, Monticello, New Glarus, and Oregon. The district also contains Cadiz Springs State Recreation Area.

A very likely Democrat seat, the Incumbent is safe from the new maps, but does draw a Republican challenger. Her first year in office she co-sponsored the adult use recreational marijuana bill.

Jenna Jacobson (D-Oregon)

Incumbent first elected in 2012; previously served on the Village of Oregon board and chaired the Finance Committee and the Personnel & Public Safety Committee

Serving on the Agriculture, Consumer Protection, Financial Institutions, Workforce Development, and Birth to Three Intergovernmental Coordinating Council Committees, as well as the Speaker’s Task Force on Truancy as a Wisconsin State Assembly Representative.

During her 2022 campaign the Wi Eye Interview 13:12 Indicates she is favor of both medical and recreational. She sites tax revenue and voters wishes.

In 2023 Senator Mark Spreitzer (D-Beloit) and Representative Jenna Jacobson (D-Oregon) joined Representative Darrin Madison (D-Milwaukee), Senator Melissa Agard (D-Madison), and legislative Democrats to introduce a bill to legalize marijuana in Wisconsin at Country Life Hemp Farms.

There are 99 state Assembly seats and 16 state Senate seats on the ballot this November. The ACLU of Wisconsin sent a questionnaire to all candidates and published their answers on August 21st.

We are not surprised that she answered YES to the ACLU question: Do you support the legalization, regulation, and taxation of marijuana for recreational use by adults 21 and over in Wisconsin?
